Key Features of the Project

This Swanbourne project was a showcase of precision engineering and craftsmanship, and was named a finalist in the Urban Residential Fencing category at the Australian Fencing Awards. The client needed a secure, pet-safe fence and gate that would keep their dog safely enclosed without compromising the home’s modern aesthetic. The existing retaining wall ran with multiple height variations and the front steps rose on a slope, so the job demanded millimetre-perfect fabrication to hold level sightlines and a fully functional gate. FencrGatr custom designed and installed 18.5 metres of free-standing steel batten fencing along with an 1800mm-high matching gate, all powder coated in satin black. Bespoke raked panels and infill sections were fabricated to follow the gradients and transitions, pulling the whole run together into a seamless, architecturally striking result.

Products Used in the Project

The fence was built from 76x25mm steel battens welded to 100x10mm flat bar, fully custom fabricated and powder coated in satin black (Night Sky). The matching 1800mm-high gate was made from the same profile to keep the lines consistent across the boundary. The raked panels and infill sections were fabricated specifically to suit the varying retaining wall heights and the slope through the front steps. The welded steel construction and powder coat finish give the fence both strength and a clean, durable result suited to a premium modern home. All design, fabrication, and installation were carried out by FencrGatr.
