Why Work With Us – – – –

What A Week Actually Looks Like At FencrGatr

Monday you might be drilling footings through limestone in Trigg for a 30 metre Colorbond boundary. Tuesday could be fabricating gate components in our Balcatta workshop, getting a sliding gate frame squared and welded before powder coat on Wednesday. Thursday takes you to a pool fencing installation in Applecross where every panel has to sit flush with curved pool coping. Friday you are back on site in Ellenbrook finishing a security fence for a construction yard that needs handover by close of business.

That variety is what keeps our crew sharp. No two job sites are identical. Sandy soil in Quinns Rocks behaves differently to clay in Gosnells. A sloped block in Lesmurdie demands a different install approach to a flat subdivision lot in Piara Waters. We do not repeat the same task on a factory line. Every day brings a different site, a different set of problems to solve, and a finish you can drive past next year and point out to your mates.

Roles We Hire – – – –

Fencing Installation Roles We Are Currently Filling

We run dedicated crews across Perth WA covering everything from residential Colorbond boundary fencing to commercial security perimeters, aluminium slat and blade fencing, rural fencing, pool barriers, retaining walls, and automatic gates with electric fencing integration. That range means we need people with different skill sets.

Our experienced fencing installers handle the full scope of a job. You measure, you cut, you install, and you leave the site clean. A fencing labourer works alongside the lead installer, learning how to plumb posts, mix and pour footings, and handle materials safely on site. If your background is in carpentry, construction, welding, or landscaping and you want to move into fencing installation, we will train you up. We have taken on people from gardening, earthmoving, and even manufacturing backgrounds who turned into some of our best installers within a year.

What We Offer – – – –

Why Our Skilled Team Stays

We have had blokes start with us as labourers and work their way up to running their own crew within two years. That does not happen by accident.

Competitive Pay Per Hour

We pay above award rates and review every six months. Hard work gets noticed here. Our top installers clear over $90,000 per year before overtime.

Genuine Skills Development

We fund your White Card, First Aid, forklift licence, and working at heights. If you want to learn to weld or get your traffic management ticket, we pay for that too. You walk away with transferable trade skills whether you stay five months or fifteen years.

Proper Gear And Vehicles

Every crew runs a fully fitted vehicle with core drilling rigs, generators, and quality tools. We do not ask you to use your own gear or drive your own ute to site. We supply everything from PPE to power tools.

A Supportive Team That Has Your Back

Jake has been with us since the second year. Sarah joined to cover a three month maternity contract and is still here four years later running the entire office. We do Friday arvo knock offs, run an end of year trip, and actually remember your birthday. Sounds small, but it adds up.

Safety Is Not Just A Sign On The Wall

Every crew member holds current site safety certifications. We run toolbox talks every Monday, maintain a near miss register, and have never had a lost time injury. That record matters to us and we intend to keep it.

Consistent Work Year Round

Perth’s fencing demand does not have an off season. Between storm damage repair in winter and new builds through summer, we stay booked out. You will not be sitting at home waiting for a call. We offer stable, full time hours every week of the year.

What We Expect – – – –

What You Need To Join Our Growing Team

We are not chasing a long list of qualifications. Some of our best people came to us without any fencing experience at all. What we cannot teach is reliability, attention to detail, and the willingness to do a task properly even when nobody is watching. If you show up on time, take pride in a straight fence line, and treat customers the way you would want someone treating your mum, you will fit in here.

For installer roles, proven experience in fencing, carpentry, or construction helps. The ability to read basic plans and work to specification is essential for senior positions. A current driver’s licence is non negotiable since every job is on site across the Perth city and surrounding suburbs.

For labourer roles, we just need someone physically capable, eager to learn, and responsible enough to handle materials and equipment on a live construction site.

Frequently Asked Questions About
Fencing Jobs

Not for labourer or apprentice roles. We have hired people from landscaping, gardening, manufacturing, and general construction backgrounds who picked up fencing installation quickly. For experienced installer positions, we look for proven experience in fencing, carpentry, or a related trade. Either way, send us your details and we will work out where you fit.

Standard hours are Mon to Fri, starting between 6:30am and 7:00am depending on site location. Most days finish by 3:30pm. During peak periods we occasionally offer Saturday work at overtime rates, but it is never compulsory. All positions are full time and paid per hour.

Our workshop is in Balcatta but our job sites span the entire Perth metropolitan area. One day you could be in Hillarys, the next in Thornlie. We supply crew vehicles so you are not burning your own fuel driving across the city. All travel time to and from the workshop is paid.

A White Card (construction induction) is essential for all site based roles. If you do not have one, we will organise and pay for it before your start date. A current driver licence is required. Forklift tickets, first aid, and working at heights certifications are bonuses but not essential as we fund these for our team.

Fill out the application form below with your details, upload your CV and any certificates you hold, and we will be in touch within a few days. If your experience matches what we are looking for, we will invite you to our Balcatta workshop for a chat and a walk through our operation. No suit required.
