Key Features of the Project

This custom front boundary system was delivered for a newly built family home in Stirling, where the owners wanted a frontage that matched the quality and architectural presentation of their long-term dream home while still delivering dependable security, durability, and low maintenance. The design paired rendered masonry pillars and low walls with custom fabricated aluminium slat infill panels powder coated in Monument. The slats intentionally mirrored the strong horizontal lines of the home while balanced spacing and clean framing softened the overall look. The dark Monument finish set a bold contrast against the crisp white render and textured brickwork, producing a premium, modern streetscape in keeping with the home’s contemporary style. A custom pedestrian access gate was built into the run and fitted with a marine-grade Borg digital lock for durable, weather-resistant security suited to Perth conditions, with the hardware chosen to keep the gate minimal and clean. As a new build, the install had to be staged alongside active construction and unfinished landscaping, with the fence set out accurately across the rendered masonry and aligned to future landscaping levels. The finished installation took the frontage from a raw construction site to a refined, cohesive architectural statement.

Products Used in the Project

The fence used custom aluminium slat infill panels with a Monument powder-coated framework and slats, set into custom powder-coated aluminium posts and framing. A pedestrian access gate was integrated into the run and fitted with a marine-grade Borg digital locking system for keyless, weather-resistant access. Concealed fixing channels were used throughout for a streamlined finish with no visible fasteners on the face. The combination of structural durability and lightweight aluminium fabrication gives long-term corrosion resistance and low maintenance, which suits both a coastal climate and a premium new home. The main challenge was working around ongoing construction and incomplete site works while keeping accurate set-out across the masonry pillars and consistent horizontal slat lines through several elevation changes. Careful attention went into keeping clean sightlines and even spacing right across the frontage, and into integrating the gate hardware neatly into the custom framing.
